Week 8: Mountain Man

This week i hiked for a few days by myself, hence the lack of photos of me. It was a welcome change from being part of a group in some ways, i can go farther or shorter depending on how i feel alone rather than the group. I feel quite at home in the mountains. The crisp air and water are unbeatable. Its difficult to explain just how tasty the water from the streams up here are (filtered of course). This week started somewhere amidst the sierra nevada mountains and ended in the town of mammoth lakes, my resupply point for food. A great many views were had this week. I also passed the 900 mile marker and the marker for complete 1/3 of the trail. Crazy!! Feeling strong and looking forward to hiking with my parents and brothers in northern california and/or oregon. Unfortunately, no bear sightings for me even in the supposed bear areas that are the sierra mountains. There is still more time so i havent given up hope just yet. Through this section i hiked through two separate national parks, both of which were stunning, however filled with people. Most of whom are hiking sections, weekend hiking, or hiking the JMT. Enjoy the photos of some of the many things ive seen in the last week as words hardly do them justice.
